World Book Day 2015
Thursday 5th March - Picture Books
From a very early age we experience the joy of books, through exploring and experiencing picture books. However picture books are not just for very young children!
This year we will celebrate the variety of picture books for all ages, young and old.
Highlights of the day include…
Dressing up as your favourite picture character. Ideas can be as varied from The Gruffalo or Paddington Bear to Anthony Browne’s fairy tale characters. You will find you know more picture books than you might think!
Breakfast at 8:00am. We’re changing the format slightly this year with one adult per family attending to give the dads a break if they want! Plus collect our list of picture books for all ages.
The Queen’s School would like you to nominate your favourite children’s book. We are collecting nominations for your favourite children's book. This might be a picture book that was a bedtime story, the first book you ever read, that adventure story that you just couldn't put down, the book where you learned all about dinosaurs or might just be the book you read last week. We'll collect all the responses and publish them in time for World Book Day. The only thing that we ask is that you accurately provide the author and title of a single book (eg not the Famous Five series) and that you add a short explanation for your choice. This is open to all so ask your Mum, Dad, Granny, Sister, Auntie or whoever to make a nomination. You can make your nomination from the linkl on the left or by clicking here Nominate Your Favourite Children's Book
