A day out in the capital...

After an early start and a prompt breakfast we were on our way to Paris with lunches packed and cameras at the ready.  The sun was shining and traffic was minimal - today was going to be a good day.

We managed to seat ourselves on the top deck of our Bateau Parisien and were treated to stunning views of some of Paris's most famous sites (including Notre Dame, the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower) as we took a trip down the Seine.

We then had a quick lunch in the picturesque gardens of the Louvre and headed to the Arc de Triomphe, where we could marvel not only at Napoleon's grand monument but also at the unique style of Parisian drivers.  After climbing the 284 steps to the top we enjoyed yet more wonderful views, this time a panorama of central Paris.

After dinner and a swim we will be sitting around the campfire for an evening of song.
