Brie-Comte-Robert - Préparez à manger - Activities - Crêpes

After a hearty breakfast, we set off to the nearby village of Brie-Comte-Robert for our trip to the weekly market. The children stocked up on some high-quality merchandise (“Look – you can buy watches for five Euros!”) for themselves as well as their nearest and dearest, so you can perhaps look forward to a Tricolore-themed Eiffel Tower or some kind of crystal memento taking pride of place on your mantelpiece.

This was followed by the Préparer à Manger activity: in dorm groups, the children purchased ingredients for a lunch they were due to prepare back at the chateau.  The dishes (see the uploaded photos) were judged by the Head Chef, who was most impressed by the presentation and creative concepts dreamed up by the children.

No sooner had he voiced his approval than the lunches were gobbled up, ahead of an afternoon of physical activity: archery, climbing, abseiling, zip wire and a team-building challenge. After a quick swim, it was time for dinner, followed by some more culinary action, this time in the form of crêpe-making!
