2021 Summer Learning
Summer School Offer
Long summer holidays? Looking for purposeful tasks that will keep your child motivated and ready to learn?
Here are some ideas and activities to help focus learning at home during the summer. Please remember that the holidays are also a time for children to recharge, process, relax, have fun and most importantly play!
To ensure your child continues to make progress, please keep the key skills of reading, physical writing and spelling ongoing to ease their transition in September. A little goes a long way!
Reading - Wild World Heroes
An excellent initiative set up by the Reading Agency to encourage your child to read over the summer holidays. This year extended to include online activities and incentives. Let us know if your child takes part (on your return to school) and they will receive a certificate to celebrate their success.
Diary - Find a fun notebook/ scrapbook and write a diary entry once a week (or more) about some of the things you have been doing. Add pictures, tickets, photos etc.
You might include friends you have visited and games you have played, activities you have done at home – baking, reading, drawing or visits or days out – local walks, bike rides, time with/ at Grandparents etc.
