OL: Recall the 2x, 5x and 10x tables.
Say these together: 1 times 2 is..., 2 times 2 is..., 3 times 2 is... (up to 12 times...)
You might want to focus on a different times table each day. Encourage children to repeat this until they become fluent in their recall of all facts.
Maths Questions and Reasoning
1. From the CGP workbook 'The Question Book' - have a go at page 30.
Please note, in Year 2 children we are learning the 2x, 5x and 10x tables. However, some of the exercises in this workbook include 3x table. Although we haven’t yet covered this in class, encourage your child to have a go. Talk about what ‘x’ means. Use key vocabulary: multiplication, multiplied by, times, lots of.
2. Create a multiplication fact poster

Using a multiplication number sentence of your choice (2x, 5x, 10x, ext 3x tables) show this in four different ways - as commutative, repeated addition, an array, groups of. In class, we have been learning about these different ways and using them to solve multiplication problems.
We have attached an example (see pdf file below) of what this might look like.
And remember children...have fun with your learning. Think about what you already know and what we have been learning in Maths in class. We think you are amazing and have been working so hard.
