The Big Queen's Cycling Challenge - 2019

The Big Queens cycling challenge will take place on 17 & 18 May 2019 and is a sponsored cycle ride to Bruges.  If you or any of your Queen’s friends are keen cyclists or simply in the market for an exciting physical challenge, then we’d love you to take part.

This is going to be our biggest fundraiser for 2019 and we will be cycling for The Queen’s School and Great Ormond Street Hospital

So…. calling all cyclists, cyclist support teams, bakers, graphic designers, launch party organisers…and indeed anyone who simply wants to support the cause by sponsoring one or all of the riders, or cheering them on from the side-lines!

If you are interested think hard over the half term, as we need numbers of participants by the end of February, and that the more have the better since it raises more awareness and lowers costs!  Don’t worry - the ride will be organised with the expert help and guidance of and will take place with support vehicles and experienced riders accompanying the Queens team on their journey to the picturesque town of Bruges.

We also need people who think they might be able to help to maximise sponsorship opportunities, so if you are or know of local (or national!) businesses that would be interested, please get in touch via

Design a Cycling Jersey

As part of the challenge we’d like to have our own cycling jerseys and we’d like them to be designed by a Queen’s School child. You’ll find a template attached so why not spend part of next week with your feet up whilst your children put their creative efforts into designing a jersey? It should be colourful (but not too many colours!) and incorporate the school logo in some form. For some inspiration, take a look here Cycling Jersey Examples (this site is just for illustrative purposes).  You can download a template below.
