Three SEN Teaching Assistant vacancies for September 2020

We are seeking to fill a number of teaching assistant posts from September 2020.

Salaries will be on scale 4 of the National Joint Council pay spine for Outer London, on a term-time only
(39 weeks per year) and pro rata basis. 
Salaries given below are based on current rates, before implementation of any 2020 national pay settlement.

  • Post 1.  SEN support - Year 5 (32.75 hrs/week, £17,333 pa)
  • Post 2.  SEN support - Early Years (32.75 hrs/week, £17,333 pa)
  • Post 3.  SEN support - Early Years (10 hrs/week over 5 mornings, £5,292 pa)

It is essential that applicants have experience of working with children on the Autism spectrum.

The following would also be a distinct advantage:

  • Experience of SCERTS (although we can provide this for the right candidate) and/or ASD training  
  • Familiarity with social thinking strategies, emotional literacy and using zones of regulation

Start date:                                         2nd September 2020

Successful candidates will:

  • Have experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs, including children on the Autism Spectrum and/or with ADHD
  • Demonstrate a commitment towards raising standards within a school community
  • Have an understanding of numeracy skills and literacy in the primary curriculum
  • Positively promote inclusion and have high expectations for all children
  • Be able to deliver a range of intervention programmes
  • Be creative and enjoy making their interventions fun in order to inspire, motivate, engage and enthuse our pupils to love learning and aspire for great things
  • Be a proactive team player with good communication skills
  • Have a positive hardworking attitude, show initiative, be proactive and demonstrates good communication skills.
  • Have a range of nurturing, effective positive behaviour management skills that understand behaviour as a form of communication
  • Be willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community 
  • Have a commitment to the school’s Christian values of Love, Compassion and Respect.
