Our Year One Learning Page
Hello Cherry and Fir Class,
As the expectation is that children will be in school, learning on Google classroom will be reduced as teachers focus on planning for their classes in school. The teachers may set projects for children to continue at home and there will still be general learning suggestions and links to BBC Bitesize and Oak Academy learning.
There are activities in the stream with links to your Home Learning
Please see Parent Mail about how to log in and access this resource.
Please note that there is no pressure to complete all the learning set, try to do what you can, when you can. We suggest you use the timetable as a guide only.
Here is a suggested weekly timetable for your home learning:
How can I complete learning at home if I cannot access google classroom?
We are very aware that this change won’t be suitable for everyone. If you have limited time on a computer or are unable to access Google Classroom, there are lots of things you can do to keep your learning going. We recommend that at the very least you keep the following skills going:
- Daily reading
- Counting forwards and backwards past 100
- Counting in 2's, 5's and 10's
- Phonics practise
- Tricky word practise
There are also fantastic learning opportunities provided by Oak academy and the BBC.
Week beginning Monday 27th April – we suggest you try the following links. Each subject is has a lesson a day or sequence to follow:
Welcome to the UK - https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zdq6t39
Around the world - https://www.thenational.academy/online-classroom/year-1/foundation/#subjects
Don’t forget to access the tasks we have set you on Education City.
Our normal online Mathletics resource is available and we’ll continue to use this. You can access the site here Mathletics and your child already has a login.
We are excited to see all the learning you are doing at home!
We are missing you!
